Phoenix's landing page

I have always wanted a tool that brings you to an actually random website, so I made a very simple python script that does exactly that.  There are 2 versions, one that directs to a random IP, and one that generates a random domain name…

My PC was taking a frustrating amount of space in my small room so this page documents my process in making an open air "case" in order to mount it to the wall. The first order of business is the motherboard mounting. I decided to…

After a lot of frustration trying to download the Godot export templates I got a generic server error at about 400MB downloaded. After which searched for torrents of the export templates and found none. For an open source community project we can't all rely on…

This page documents my progress in converting my Ender 3 into a record lathe. This project gave me a chance to finally learn FreeCAD as Fusion was broken yet again. All the parts were designed and printed by me using FreeCAD, on my X1C running…

To host this portfolio website, store my files, host product licenses for eirspace, run a VPN and various game servers I needed a simple server. I ended up reusing computer parts I had laying around and incredibly cheap decommissioned server drives to get it up…

Building a jet engine that can sustain combustion has been a dream of mine for a long time and these are the first steps. The above render is the first mock-up and has many issues. Firstly the volume of air should diminish as it traverses…

This is a tool I made to download all the past papers for a module as it is very annoying to waste time downloading the past papers from every year manually. It is not perfect and I still need to implement searching for papers past…

This is a compute shader that simulates thousands or millions of agents and observe emergent behaviours as you change their parameters. Largely inspired by Sebastian Lague's video on the subject you can watch here. The folder containing the project can be downloaded and run from…

I had a lot of trouble setting up a headless Ansys licensing server for my friends at Eirspace the documentation provided by Ansys is fairly light and addressed none of the networking configuration or where the files were located. The only headless build for Ansys is…

Thumbnails are automatically cached to the phone link (formerly Your Phone) app and are visible, however the moment they are clicked on they are blurred until the phone connects. The images are stored as blobs in a sql database in the Phone link app files…

The royal college of surgeons in Dublin want to start creating more of their simulation equipment in house. I was then tasked with working with their technicians to determine a design that they could work with and producing a 3D renders of the final product.

This project uses a novel system to tilt motors into place and control a VTOL aircraft all while ensuring the streamlined design. The rods hidden in the wing nacelle allow the thick servo's to be nestled in the wing yet still allow the aircraft to…

This was a project I made in school during transition year. The goal was to create a simple 2d simulation of basic orbital mechanics as an educational tool. I encountered huge limitations due to the project needing to be made in Scratch. Despite this I…

Below is a simple script that pulls sensor data from a home assistant installation and writes it to a csv file. The first time the script is ran it will pull all the historical data up until that point, subsequent runs will only grab new…

To complete the leaving cert curriculum a coursework project had to be made and presented in the form of a website. Click the link below to see the final product. The project synthesized stereo audio in real time according to the distance the sensors detect…

When preparing the launch of Eirspace's (A model rocketry team I am a part of) maiden rocket launch I realised the need for a compact and resilient sort of black box to recover data from in case of a catastrophic failure. This prompted the creation…

This project was created for a college assignment in which one must design an environmentally conscious visitors centre in the amazon rainforest. A presentation accompanied by a 3D printed mock-up was used to present our solution to the brief. Download brief here

This project builds upon the Red Hill thrust vectoring design incorporating a much more robust manner of displacing the thrust plate. Three servo's work in conjunction to move the thrust plate into position. This design can also handle much stronger forces from the motors as…

This simple project aimed to replace my phone's ugly plastic back panel with a carbon fiber isogrid and glass.

I have started creating an intuitive and fast 3D modelling software that remains parametric but allows modifications of the geometry in real time and keeps everything as interactable and intuitive as possible. As opposed to almost all CAD programs it generates and manipulates mesh geometry…

The red hill rocket employs a novel thrust vectoring system wherein the rocket can tilt a cluster of motors attached the a thrust plate using only 3 motors. The inverse kinematics of this first system was very simple as the plate was simply attached to…
